Why was my Healthcare debit card declined?

There are a number of reasons a card may be declined:

  • A card has expired.

  • There is not enough available money in the account for the requested purchase.

  • A card has not been activated.

  • The merchant, where the purchase is being attempted, is not IIAS certified for products.

  • The plan for the card is not active.

Deactivate a lost Healthcare debit card.

You can report your card as lost through the online portal or the HealthEquity mobile app to deactivate it and request a new one. The card cannot be reactivated later.

Note: HealthEquity does not currently offer temporary deactivation or suspension of a card. It is not possible to reactivate a card once it has been deactivated.

How do I report fraud on my HSA debit card or dispute a card transaction?

If you see transactions on your HealthEquity® Visa® Health Account Card* that you did not make, you can dispute them by contacting Member Services.

  • The transaction must be disputed within 90 days.

  • Only the account holder can dispute charges.
